📋 Abstract

Abstract: Soil is a natural material on the earth surface and all depends on the nature. As a civil engineer soil is very important part in any construction work, so firstly we need to check soil behaviour, its strength and bearing capacity of soil, that how much strength or capability to bear the structure load in the soil which is under construction. There are many types of soil and having different strengths and load bearing capacity. In this research we focused on to improve the strength parameters of clay soil by adding CKD and Recron-3s Fibre. We performed various tests on the soil to know its strength parameters such as Cement Kiln Dust as a stabilized material in soil with varying percentages 5%, 10%, 15%. Use of cement kiln dust for improving soil property is advantageous because they are cheap, locally available and eco-friendly. Soil samples for California Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) tests are prepared at its Maximum Dry Density (MDD) corresponding to its Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) in the UCS sampler without and with recron-3s fibre. The percentage of recron-3s fibre by dry weight of soil is taken as 0.75%, 1.0% and 1.5% and corresponding to each recron-3s fibre content soaked UCS tests are conducted in the laboratory. Adding of recron-3s fibre and Cement kiln dust results in less thickness of pavement due to increase in mix and reduce the cost of construction and hence economy of the construction of highway will be achieved.

Abstract: Good transportation infrastructure is most important in our country. If transportation infrastructure are good then country developing very fast. Because in good transportation infrastructure we can build expressways, highways, road, etc. Anyone can travel easily from one place to another place and it is more helpful for goods services to transport from one place to another place. In this paper we have to study about how to design rotatry crossroad with the help of AUTOCAD Civil 3D Software.

📋 Abstract

Abstract: Advances in concrete have been taking place in concrete construction over the past decade. Researches started using different additives such as Recron fibre, metakaolin, coconut fibres, steel fibre, glass fibres etc.a replacement cement which was found to be sufficient for the improvement of the properties of concrete. In the recent times with the use of this fibres has lead to many advantages such as increase in the homogeneity of concrete with reduction in segregation of aggregates, reduction in shrinkage cracks and also rise in strengths like compressive strength,split tensile strength, flexural strength of concrete along with ductility property. For mix design of M30 grade concrete is taken to determine the compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength of concrete. By adding different proportions of 0,0.3%,0.5%,0.7% of Recron fibres to concrete mix and the casting of different
specimens such as cubes, cylinders and beams are done for 7days and 28days. The Strength and workability parameters have been compared to normal concrete and Recron fibre reinforced concrete.For strength parameters the maximum strength was obtained at 0.7% of Recron fiber and the workability decreases with increase in addition of Recron fibre to the concrete.

📋 Abstract

Abstract: In the contemporary LPG (Liberalisation Privatisation & Globalisation) trend application of light weight concrete is souring up day by day. The lightweight concrete has many advantages compared to conventional concrete like providing thermal acoustic insulation, and producing of light weight structures with the less number of structural components and steel reinforcement. This gradually minimise the construction cost. In addition to the sound mechanical strength properties, longstanding durability properties also regulate the efficiency and effectiveness of the concrete. Durability of lightweight aggregate concrete is its resistance against the atmospheric and human induced gases, various chemicals and fluctuations in temperature etc. which reacts vigorously or moderately with the various binder elements of the concrete causing degradation. In general Concrete structures will get expose to various environments under certain circumstances such as proximity to industries which releases chemicals and emits various gases; acid rains, hot springs etc., and the course of interaction may vary from few seconds to many years. While coming to resistance to various environments, the durability of lightweight concrete is mostly influenced by materials that are under acid, chloride and sulphate environment.

In this study, an attempt is made to study the impact and effect on the specimens of modified concrete which are demoulded after 24 hours of casting and placed in the 5% of acidic solutions such as i) Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), ii)  ulfuric Acid (H2SO4) to study acid attack and 5% of alkaline solutions such as i)Sodium Sulphate (Na2SO4), ii) Sodium Chloride (NaCl) solution to study sulphate and chloride attack after 28 days and 90 days of curing and the results are compared with those cured in plain water. Modified concrete is obtained by 100% replacement of naturally available coarse aggregate with light weight aggregates like Sintered fly-ash aggregates and LECA (Light Expandable Clay Aggregates) in equal proportions along with 3 no’s of pozzolanic materials i.e., silica fume, fly ash and slag in equal proportions which collectively replaces 11% of cement in addition to the varying percentages i.e., 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% of Nano materials(TiO2 & SiO2) on 11% weight of cement in equal proportions. Various tests have been carried out on the above samples like density variation, cube compressive strength, split tensile strength, and Sorptivity. Results indicate that the concretes containing pozzolans have better performance in comparison to the concretes which are produced without pozzolans and also the resistance of concrete increased with addition up to 1% of TiO2 & SiO2 in equal proportions and decreased beyond that.
