Abstract

This paper describes the fabrication of a two-body abrasion tester for composite materials and soft metal alloys. Composite materials are tested for different applied loads of 10, 15, 20 and 25N. It is noticed that the specific wear rate has increased with increase of applied load. Similar tests are conducted with supplied equipment and observed that an error of 3.05% is obtained in specific wear rate with respect to the fabricated setup. Therefore, the developed setup has the ability to conduct experiments as per standards.
